In the 29th minute, Honorio Oliveiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Arnaldo Mon fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Bohemios's protests and gave Arnaldo Mon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Los Bohemios getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualterio Gaizko couldn't finish the play. Los Bohemios's Joaquin Kusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epifanio Ostadar in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gualterio Gaizko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Linyeras de Merlo's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualterio Gaizko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Kusko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gualterio Gaizko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Los Bohemios getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Amancio Cutberto hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Erubiel Curcio made the kick off in the second half. Los Bohemios's Amancio Cutberto got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clodoveo Eduino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Cutberto in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Gualterio Gaizko managed to get in a good position for a shot.
