Spectators: 5750 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 50) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Erubiel Curcio made the kick off which started today's match. In the 2nd minute, Tobias Bras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Los Linyeras de Merlo's zone, Epifanio Llope stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clodoveo Eduino came out of the goal and Epifanio Llope tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Honorio Oliveiro struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Erasmo Platon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Linyeras de Merlo. Honorio Oliveiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Erasmo Platon made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Erubiel Curcio sent off a good shot on target. Erubiel Curcio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gaudencio Jerrold fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mecoyta FC's protests and gave Gaudencio Jerrold a yellow card for diving instead. Gaudencio Jerrold kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Fidel Lain charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fidel Lain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mecoyta FC booed when Los Linyeras de Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erasmo Platon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Gaizko in the 17th minute of play. Honorio Oliveiro struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Erasmo Platon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Linyeras de Merlo. Honorio Oliveiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erasmo Platon having to make a save. A collision led to Mecoyta FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Joaquin Beila hit a great ball. Honorio Oliveiro scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erasmo Platon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Gualterio Gaizko came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Los Linyeras de Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualterio Gaizko couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Los Linyeras de Merlo's Honorio Oliveiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erasmo Platon. Erasmo Platon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Los Linyeras de Merlo's Honorio Oliveiro got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gualterio Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Erasmo Platon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Platon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorio Oliveiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Erubiel Curcio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Honorio Oliveiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Los Linyeras de Merlo's Honorio Oliveiro in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mecoyta FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 44th minute Prospero Ubarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clodoveo Eduino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Lain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Erasmo Platon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualterio Gaizko might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erasmo Platon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualterio Gaizko ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 62nd minute Gualterio Gaizko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasmo Platon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Platon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Oliveiro in the 63rd minute of play. Tobias Bras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erasmo Platon having to make a save. Honorio Oliveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Platon having to interfere. Clodoveo Eduino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Beila, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Oliveiro in the 76th minute of play forced Mecoyta FC's goalkeeper Erasmo Platon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fidel Lain in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erasmo Platon saved Mecoyta FC from getting behind. Gualterio Gaizko might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erasmo Platon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualterio Gaizko ran back to his position shaking his head. Mecoyta FC's Erasmo Platon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Oliveiro in the 80th minute of play. Honorio Oliveiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clodoveo Eduino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Beila in the 85th minute of the match. Mecoyta FC's Epifanio Llope got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tobias Bras came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Los Linyeras de Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tobias Bras couldn't finish the play. Gualterio Gaizko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Linyeras de Merlo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
