With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Gaizko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ladislao Stanislao was shown his second yellow card after 27 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Casimiro Iraido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Gaizko having to interfere. A collision led to Pineapples FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Hipolito Ugaitz hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Cristobal Quinteros sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pineapples FC's Hector Tajo didn't even have to move. Apolo Piña's late challenge caught a Durazno FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Piña helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Durazno FC booed when Pineapples FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Piña didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Casimiro Iraido ran back to his position shaking his head. 68 minutes into the match, Durazno FC's goalkeeper Freddy Gaizko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diego Oalo. In the 95th minute, Igor Eriz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Casimiro Iraido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Durazno FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
