Freddy Gaizko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Roland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astor Herensuge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Freddy Gaizko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Igor Eriz came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Durazno FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Eriz couldn't finish the play. Freddy Gaizko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anier Bernebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Cristobal Quinteros was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Durazno FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of villa dalmine:s goal. When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, villa dalmine's Epifanio Haritzeder got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Freddy Gaizko. If Anier Bernebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute of the match Elias Laffitte shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Gaizko showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Astor Herensuge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Santiago Roland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddy Gaizko. Durazno FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Santiago Roland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. With his leg Freddy Gaizko managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when villa dalmine's Astor Herensuge fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Astor Herensuge hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. If Anier Bernebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Anier Bernebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Durazno FC's zone, Santiago Roland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Gaizko came out of the goal and Santiago Roland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddy Gaizko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Herensuge, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Durazno FC's Freddy Gaizko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Bernebe in the 87th minute of play. Anier Bernebe kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 90 minutes of play Durazno FC's Cristian Solustiano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
