Sebastian Xabier's late challenge caught a Durazno FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Xabier helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Durazno FC booed when C.A.Damalu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Xabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddy Gaizko came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Damalu's Joel Malvin. But to his dismay, Joel Malvin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Niceto Loiola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Eriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Nicolas Txurio managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Damalu's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Txurio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddy Gaizko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Joel Malvin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nicolas Txurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolas Txurio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Malvin to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Martinez in the 56th minute of play forced C.A.Damalu's goalkeeper Niceto Loiola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niceto Loiola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Federico Martinez went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Durazno FC's Igor Eriz got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Federico Martinez took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niceto Loiola. Niceto Loiola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Martinez in the 79th minute of play forced C.A.Damalu's goalkeeper Niceto Loiola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.Damalu's Niceto Loiola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Eriz in the 88th minute of play. Niceto Loiola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Federico Martinez, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Saul Raphael hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Igor Eriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Federico Martinez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Federico Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A.Damalu's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
