After a defensive mix-up in Luján FC's zone, Damian Patxi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmelo Darien came out of the goal and Damian Patxi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Sagrario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Carmelo Darien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Ituzaingó AFC's goalkeeper Lisandro Iratze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Sanduru. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dante Sagrario made a kick off. Damian Patxi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Darien having to interfere. Carmelo Darien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Damian Patxi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ituzaingó AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Patxi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Sanduru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lisandro Iratze read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Luján FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Cordario to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Dante Sagrario managed to get in a good position for a shot.
