After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Higinio Marko managed to get in a good position for a shot. voladores's supporters rose to their feet, but Higinio Marko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leandro Enaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tadeo Felipo's late challenge caught a Gimnasia y Tiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadeo Felipo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, voladores's Tadeo Felipo got a free kick in the 9th minute. Aureliano Francho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delmar Cutberto hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Leandro Enaut made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Angelo Daunte sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in voladores's zone, Aureliano Francho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Chucho came out of the goal and Aureliano Francho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Melquiades Edorta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y Tiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melquiades Edorta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelo Daunte succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 38th playminute. If Melquiades Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melquiades Edorta was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Tiro's zone, Cosme Abaurre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Enaut came out of the goal and Cosme Abaurre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute, Rodrigo Oinatz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute, Victorino Niguel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Aureliano Francho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y Tiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aureliano Francho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, voladores's goalkeeper Aldo Chucho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aureliano Francho. After 67 played minutes Gimnasia y Tiro got a freekick which was hit by Esteve Kemen. If Aureliano Francho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorino Niguel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Leandro Enaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aureliano Francho took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aldo Chucho. Aldo Chucho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Cosme Abaurre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, Gimnasia y Tiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Izotz to maneuver through the defense. Victorino Niguel hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. voladores's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
