The referee ignored Guillermina AFC's protests and gave Domingo Cesaro a yellow card for diving instead. Domingo Cesaro kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Hilario Eleazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Matambre were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hilario Eleazar to strike the kick off in the second half. Eleuterio Castel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Eleazar in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guillermina AFC's zone, Hilario Eleazar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eleuterio Castel came out of the goal and Hilario Eleazar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Guillermina AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hilario Eleazar came free, but Eleuterio Castel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hilario Eleazar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eleuterio Castel was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Eleuterio Castel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Calvino in the 84th minute. If Rodolfo Leheren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Guillermina AFC's Domingo Cesaro got a free kick in the 87th minute. After 90 minutes, Marcial Jobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matambre and the Guillermina AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 93 minutes into the match, Guillermina AFC's goalkeeper Eleuterio Castel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Calvino. The Matambre supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Matambre would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
