When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denis Oton made a kick off. Ricardo Curcio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Denis Oton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Maties read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Matambre's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Oton came free, but Melquiades Maties reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Matambre's zone, Ricardo Curcio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Maties came out of the goal and Ricardo Curcio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matambre succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though El Terco F.C. had controlled the match.
