Iker Frances scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roque Astudillo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Roque Astudillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Chayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute, Javier Chayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Pascual Azeari got a free kick in the 14th minute. Roque Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Chayo in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute Marco Polentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Orlo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benigno Argi's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benigno Argi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Palermo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benigno Argi to maneuver through the defense. Boca Juniors's Gaspar Belarmo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Palermo FC. Iker Frances fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Astudillo having to interfere. If Javier Chayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marco Polentzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Ermegildo Nesor got a free kick in the 30th minute. Amancio Rayman, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Polentzi came free, but Ramon Orlo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Javier Chayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Chayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Roque Astudillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Iker Frances notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Palermo FC's Roque Astudillo. Roque Astudillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Chayo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roque Astudillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iker Frances in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Chayo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roque Astudillo saved Palermo FC from getting behind. Benigno Argi kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Marco Polentzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Valiente came free, but Ramon Orlo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roque Astudillo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Iker Frances sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th match minute, Palermo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Lugo to maneuver through the defense. Javier Chayo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roque Astudillo having to make a save. 79 minutes into the game, Marco Polentzi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ramon Orlo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 83 minutes, Javier Chayo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Chayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iker Francess short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Roque Astudillo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Javier Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Astudillo having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Palermo FC's goalkeeper Roque Astudillo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ermegildo Nesor. Iker Frances sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Palermo FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Boca Juniors were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
