Leandro Sayvion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Valiente, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute Cleto Theodore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roque Astudillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Cleto Theodore took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Roque Astudillo to make any attempt to save it. Marco Polentzi struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Leandro Sayvion didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palermo FC. Gimnsia de Jujuy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jimeno Valiente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.

The wind increased when Marco Polentzi made the kick off in the second half. Benigno Argi charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
