Rafael Berenguer made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Aquiles Giraldo sent off a good shot on target. In the 7th minute Miguel Romelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Berenguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquiles Giraldo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Gregorio Louis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Jenaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th match minute, Niupi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Ekaitz to maneuver through the defense. When Clemente Omero fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miñones FC's protests and gave Clemente Omero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, one of Miñones FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Miñones FC. Mauricio Ekaitz shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 20th match minute, Niupi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benicio Harri to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Urbasa got free with Rafael Berenguer in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Niupi FC booed when Miñones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorio Bizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Honorio Bizen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Louis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Honorio Bizen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregorio Louis was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Niupi FC's Aquiles Giraldo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rafael Berenguer. That made the score 1-0 after 45 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Melquiades Benet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregorio Louis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evelio Jenaro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 56 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Niupi FC's Armando Urbasa got a free kick in the 59th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Niupi FC's goalkeeper Gregorio Louis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Honorio Bizen. 71 minutes into the match, Aquiles Giraldo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Miñones FC's Rafael Berenguer. Rafael Berenguer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the match, Niupi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Honorio Bizen came free, but Gregorio Louis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute Aquiles Giraldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Berenguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregorio Louis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Bizen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Aquiles Giraldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Niupi FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Miñones FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
