The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dario Nesto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 3rd playminute. In the 9th minute, Isaac Havier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cecilio Olentzaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Talleres's Cecilio Olentzaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Santxol in the 13th minute of play. Tadeusz Czaplicki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Txema, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 19 minutes, Gerardo Santxol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chalicán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Santxol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the game, Saverio Rivas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talleres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chalicán the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Talleres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Rivas to maneuver through the defense. Godfredo Aguilera kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Isaac Havier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Olentzaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Chalicán fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Chalicán's Isaac Havier looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Txema to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Gerardo Santxol put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Cecilio Olentzaro. In the 62nd match minute, Chalicán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Montay to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chalicán's zone, Antonio Txema stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeusz Czaplicki came out of the goal and Antonio Txema tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tadeusz Czaplicki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Nesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After having played for 69 minutes, Isaac Havier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
