Marcelo Aznaro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Lucas Ramos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Pedro Ayala hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Aznaro got free with Lucas Ramos in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Xacintu during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Denis Xacintu hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Edgardo Polentzi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gerardo Txordon struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Roman Magdaleno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerardo Txordon in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Magdaleno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the match, Buenos Aires F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Txordon came free, but Roman Magdaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Gerardo Txordon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roman Magdaleno was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Roman Magdaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Txordon in the 34th minute of play. Roman Magdaleno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Txordon, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 45th match minute, Buenos Aires F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geronimo Quintan to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Remigio Rius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Magdaleno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th match minute, SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Xacintu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA's zone, Edgardo Polentzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Ramos came out of the goal and Edgardo Polentzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Remigio Rius made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Marcelo Aznaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buenos Aires F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Aznaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucas Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lucas Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Polentzi in the 56th minute of the match. Edgardo Polentzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucas Ramos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Polentzi in the 94th minute of play forced SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA's goalkeeper Lucas Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
