The referee ignored Argentina's protests and gave Rodolfo Belo a yellow card for diving instead. Santo Valente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Botello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Claris in the 30th minute of play. Joel Botello was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eustacio Claris showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 31 minute of play. In the 35th minute, Eleuterio Liberto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Rencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The audience was convinced that Benedicto Maiorga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomas Rencio was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Eustacio Claris was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Tomas Rencio made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Santo Valente sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute, Argentina's Benedicto Maiorga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomas Rencio. Tomas Rencio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roque Maurino during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes Argentina got a freekick which was hit by Roque Maurino. The Argentina fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when Argentina's Benedicto Maiorga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
