The coaching staff of Nueva Orleans FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Damaso Peyo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 9th minute, one of Nueva Orleans FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nueva Orleans FC. Nueva Orleans FC:s Virgilio Senen showed great skill when he stopped Primitivo Eli:s penalty. Virgilio Senen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Eli in the 13th minute of the match. When Maximo Millano came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Los Borrachos del Tablon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Millano couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Borrachos del Tablon's Americo Checa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Virgilio Senen. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. 21 minutes into the match, Nueva Orleans FC's goalkeeper Virgilio Senen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domingos Filipo. Maximo Millano struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Virgilio Senen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Borrachos del Tablon. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Primitivo Eli in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Senen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes, Augusto Lordi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nueva Orleans FC and the Los Borrachos del Tablon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Augusto Lordi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Senen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Eli in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Galeno to strike the kick off in the second half. When Americo Checa came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Los Borrachos del Tablon fans jumped to their feet. In the 53rd match minute, Los Borrachos del Tablon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Filipo to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Nueva Orleans FC's Angelino Feliz threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Elpidio Galeno, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nueva Orleans FC's Virgilio Senen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Americo Checa in the 74th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Danilo Toro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Nueva Orleans FC's Fernan Edwardo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After having played for 81 minutes, Primitivo Eli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Borrachos del Tablon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Eli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
