The referee ignored Copetonas's protests and gave Cristian Locaio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Patagon booed when Copetonas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Locaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patagon's Virgilio Pacorro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Astrada in the 16th minute of play. Cristian Locaio hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Eliseo Abaunza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The tension between the Copetonas and the Patagon players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Copetonas got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Belmiro. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacinto Libertad during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ambrosio Casado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Machado having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Teobaldo Belasko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patagon's Virgilio Pacorro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Patagon from getting a goal against them. Adan Astrada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Virgilio Pacorro made a huge save. 56 minutes into the match, Cipriano Patrido notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Copetonas's Ismael Machado. Ismael Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patagon's Virgilio Pacorro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Patagon from getting a goal against them. Eduardo Santikurtz charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The corner ended in Cristian Locaio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Patagon's Virgilio Pacorro did a great save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Patagon fans cheered their team off the field, for while Copetonas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
