With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rene Gil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the match, Rompe Tibias Club's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Francho came free, but Rene Gil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Empalme's Hilario Bartoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Basajaun in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Elpidio Ilazki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rompe Tibias Club's Ariel Osorio in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Frutos couldn't finish the play. Ciriaco Sadurni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Hilario Bartoli made a huge save. In the 31st minute of the match, Nicanor Basajaun tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hilario Bartoli saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Rompe Tibias Club's Erubiel Frutos got a free kick in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Francho in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Gil saved Rompe Tibias Club from getting behind. Roque Casomiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciriaco Sadurni got free with Hilario Bartoli in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herminio Francho might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Gil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herminio Francho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute, Honorio Kaiet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovidio Larpe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ariel Osorio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Rompe Tibias Club's Ariel Osorio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hilario Bartoli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rene Gil firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Herminio Francho came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Empalme fans jumped to their feet.
