Lucas Abar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Ignado went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 14 played minutes Palmas got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Kusko. 18 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's goal looked a bit too open when Delmiro Pitin came free, but Lucas Abar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's Elvio Toro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anier Jacob in the 28 minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Hug came free, but Lucas Abar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Abar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Hug in the 36th minute of the match. Pascual Ticho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Honorio Frederico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Marcos Ferrer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's zone, Alfredo Hug stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Abar came out of the goal and Alfredo Hug tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Delmiro Pitin struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lucas Abar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmas. Palmas's Honorio Frederico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Ekialde in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Palmas booed when CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Oskarbi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Abar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Hug, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute Ernesto Ekialde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorio Frederico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's Ernesto Ekialde nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Honorio Frederico made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's Lucas Abar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID's goalkeeper Lucas Abar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delmiro Pitin. Lucas Abar came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmas's Alfredo Hug. But to his dismay, Alfredo Hug quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Chants of Palmas echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as CLUB ATLETICO DE MADRID had held the ball for most of the match.
