An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Guillelme in the 9th minute of play forced Progresso's goalkeeper Jorge Mino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aquiles Luzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Baldomero Ederono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano Guillelme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Luciano Guillelme left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thunder Bluff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Progresso defense, Luciano Guillelme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Mino. The Progresso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Mino should have stopped the shot. Thunder Bluff's Luciano Guillelme got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Thunder Bluff getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Santos Quintana hit a great ball. If Aquiles Luzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Guillelme in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Mino saved Progresso from getting behind. When Romeo Bittor fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Progresso's protests and gave Romeo Bittor a yellow card for diving instead. Romeo Bittor kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Luzea in the 73rd minute of play forced Thunder Bluff's goalkeeper Sindo Rozano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luciano Guillelme might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Mino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Guillelme ran back to his position shaking his head. Thunder Bluff's Sindo Rozano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvio Leobardo in the 83rd minute of play. Thunder Bluff's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Progresso the free kick. In the 93rd match minute, Thunder Bluff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Progresso lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
