Joel Jakes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Melchor Mercurio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Catúa's Vladimiro Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Tabor in the 31st minute of play. Teobaldo Frans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Vladimiro Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teobaldo Frans struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Vladimiro Batista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azulcuesta AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Catúa's zone, Victorio Tabor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Batista came out of the goal and Victorio Tabor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladimiro Batista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorio Tabor went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcos Mero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Melchor Mercurio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Azulcuesta AFC fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Azulcuesta AFC's Teobaldo Frans looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Mero was the one to do the kick off. After 57 played minutes Azulcuesta AFC got a freekick which was hit by Damian Piearres. In the 60th minute, Teobaldo Frans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Azulcuesta AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 66 minutes into the game, Marcos Mero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Melchor Mercurio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hector Erruki charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Erruki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st match minute, Catúa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Erruki to maneuver through the defense. Though ot was a great shot Catúa's keeper Vladimiro Batista was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. The supporters of Azulcuesta AFC booed when Catúa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Eguen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artemio Benvido during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 minutes, Victorio Tabor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Azulcuesta AFC and the Catúa players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Azulcuesta AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Tabor to maneuver through the defense.
