In the 20th minute, Ignacio Etxepare got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Hipolito Gartzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Pacifico got free with Efthimis Karkavilas in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Arce notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Boca Juniors's Efthimis Karkavilas. Efthimis Karkavilas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee showed Christian Dantel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Camilo Ospin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Ospin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Kiliz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignacio Etxepare stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Adan Mendebal in the 53rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Boca Juniors's Osvaldo Ubelteso. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Ignacio Etxepare managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignacio Etxepare was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Kiliz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute Ignacio Etxepare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Kiliz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Osvaldo Arce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efthimis Karkavilas. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efthimis Karkavilas should have stopped the shot. Eulalio Valiente kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Dantel came free, but Efthimis Karkavilas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Cipriano Pacifico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. In the 84th minute, Ignacio Etxepare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boca Juniors's Osvaldo Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Etxepare in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodosio Kiliz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Boca Juniors had won after a very even match.
