Camilo Ospin took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Garcia. Flavio Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Zárate FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Nicasio Eduino scored to the left of an out of position Flavio Garcia, making the score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Zárate FC's Ciriaco Abarca got a free kick in the 14th minute. Eulalio Valiente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Flavio Garcia. Zárate FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Efthimis Karkavilas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Pelayo in the 21st minute of the match. Flavio Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Valiente, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, Zárate FC's Raul Gasteiz got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Nicasio Eduino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Efthimis Karkavilas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gogo Pelayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Zárate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Gasteiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boca Juniors's Camilo Ospin got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, Zárate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Txartiko to maneuver through the defense. Boca Juniors's Ignacio Etxepare was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 44th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The wind increased when Ignacio Etxepare made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Zárate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Camilo Ospin came free, but Flavio Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Etxepare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Garcia was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 57th minute, Raul Gasteiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Efthimis Karkavilas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulises Sayveon. In the 61st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Figueroa to maneuver through the defense. Ulises Sayveon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavio Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicasio Eduino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Zárate FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Faustino Txartiko hit a great ball. Efthimis Karkavilas was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sixto Eleder. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Gogo Pelayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Efthimis Karkavilas came out of the goal and Gogo Pelayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Etxepare in the 76th minute of play forced Zárate FC's goalkeeper Flavio Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Ulises Sayveon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Ospin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Flavio Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Boca Juniors were the better team. Boca Juniors's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
