Eriberto Ruisko's late challenge caught a Gilbert's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Ruisko helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Simbol fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! Mario Quin walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, Gilbert's Leandro Orti got a free kick in the 19th minute. Miguel Gauargi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesus Boniel in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Gorosti in the 24th minute of play forced Gilbert's goalkeeper Miguel Gauargi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltasar Tiso got free with Angelo Caradaro in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Gilbert booed when Simbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Umea didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Filiberto Gorosti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filiberto Gorosti in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Gauargi saved Gilbert from getting behind. Simbol's Prospero Nofre was substituted for Rodrigo Bilintx. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Felipe Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filiberto Gorosti came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miguel Gauargi could save by the left post. 56 minutes into the match, Simbol's Filiberto Gorosti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Gauargi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jesus Boniel might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Gauargi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jesus Boniel ran back to his position shaking his head. Gilbert's Miguel Gauargi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Gilbert from getting a goal against them. Miguel Gauargi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filiberto Gorosti's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Boniel in the 68th minute of play forced Gilbert's goalkeeper Miguel Gauargi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Filiberto Gorosti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Gauargi was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. When Prospero Nofre came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Simbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prospero Nofre couldn't finish the play. Miguel Gauargi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Simbol. After 93 minutes of play, Simbol's Filiberto Gorosti made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Gauargi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Simbol's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
