The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bonifacio Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gauargi having to interfere. Damian Mikeldi struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Miguel Gauargi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covello. Miguel Gauargi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. The audience was convinced that Juan Lapurdi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Gauargi was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. The supporters of Covello booed when Gilbert was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Tiso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute of the match Damian Mikeldi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel Gauargi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Juan Lapurdi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gilbert's Miguel Gauargi. Miguel Gauargi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Miguel Gauargi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan Lapurdi went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the game, Juan Lapurdi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Miguel Gauargi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Covello's Bonifacio Cordarrell got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Juan Lapurdi sped through Gilbert's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Miguel Gauargi. Miguel Gauargi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The referee ignored Gilbert's protests and gave Felipe Eufemio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44thth minute of the game Juan Lapurdi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gilbert's Miguel Gauargi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zeledon Bonadona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gauargi having to interfere. Miguel Gauargi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Heli made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Juan Lapurdi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Miguel Gauargi, 0-6. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carmelo Rocendo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Juan Lapurdi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Miguel Gauargi, 0-7. Juan Lapurdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Miguel Gauargi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Zeledon Bonadona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Gauargi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. After a rather tough play, Gilbert's Baltasar Tiso got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Gilbert's Miguel Gauargi got control of the ball when Bonifacio Cordarrell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Lapurdi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Gauargi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Lapurdi in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Gauargi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Gauargi was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Damian Mikeldi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Damian Mikeldi really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. 94 minutes into the match, Juan Lapurdi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Gauargi. Gilbert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Lapurdi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10.
