Luciano Bela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 17th of the match, Tobias Astudillo tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Miguel Gauargi got in the way and made a wonderful save. When Leandro Orti fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gilbert's protests and gave Leandro Orti a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Astudillo in the 19th minute of play forced Gilbert's goalkeeper Miguel Gauargi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert's Miguel Gauargi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Gilbert from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the game, Felipe Eufemio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gilbert's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LaSub25 the free kick. In the 38th play minute Benedicto Gustau came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Miguel Gauargi. 1-1. Miguel Gauargi stood somewhat misplaced when Tobias Astudillo came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 44 minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Heli made a kick off. Miguel Gauargi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobias Astudillo in the 87th minute of play. Tobias Astudillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Miguel Gauargi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
