In the 5th minute of the match, Edgard Conrao tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Evelio Ebardo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Severiano Escobar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Ur, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Tadeo Beltran charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeo Beltran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Inoxidables's Evelio Ebardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Inoxidables from getting a goal against them. When Inoxidables's Anacleto Ur in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Lorenzo's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 25 minutes, Cecilio Larpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inoxidables's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cecilio Larpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Silvestre Arnas got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 29 minutes, Leonardo Errolan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo and the Inoxidables players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonardo Errolan hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anacleto Ur in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severiano Escobar saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. Severiano Escobar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anacleto Ur in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Inoxidables's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Chuse came free, but Evelio Ebardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evelio Ebardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvestre Arnas in the 38th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anacleto Ur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Luciano Mikelar came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Mikelar couldn't finish the play. Evelio Ebardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Mikelar in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Inoxidables booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Mikelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Luciano Mikelar hit a great ball. When Anacleto Ur in the 62nd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Severiano Escobar kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Mikelar in the 67th minute of play forced Inoxidables's goalkeeper Evelio Ebardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Genaro Gar fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo's protests and gave Genaro Gar a yellow card for diving instead. Genaro Gar kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Cecilio Larpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Conrao. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anacleto Ur in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severiano Escobar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Inoxidables's Evelio Ebardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Mikelar in the 89th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Anacleto Ur put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Severiano Escobar. After 95 minutes, Marcial Suero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inoxidables and the San Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Inoxidables got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Suero. In the 96th minute of the match Leonardo Errolan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evelio Ebardo skillfully saved the ball. Inoxidables's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
