In the 13th minute of the match Segundo Dorio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rigoberto Fiz skillfully saved the ball. Mateo Louis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rigoberto Fiz having to make a save. Rigoberto Fiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Chuse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Louis in the 17th minute of play forced Metal Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Rigoberto Fiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Mateo Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Louis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rigoberto Fiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateo Louis in the 26th minute of the match. Mateo Louis scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rigoberto Fiz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd minute, Roberto Chuse made a precise shot to the right of Rigoberto Fiz. Metal Fútbol Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Louis in the 36th minute of play forced Metal Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Rigoberto Fiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Mateo Louis came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateo Louis couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustaquio Lixandro in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severiano Escobar saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. Mauricio Frederico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Frederico came free, but Severiano Escobar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustaquio Lixandro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severiano Escobar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucio Elequemedo during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Metal Fútbol Club booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Elequemedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. San Lorenzo's Severiano Escobar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Frederico in the 75th minute of play.
