In the 39th minute, Wilfredo Nafarroa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Game Theory Optimal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Bebeto Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Filiberto Otoniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Telmo in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Oscar Telmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Otoniel having to interfere.
