The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robustiano Pello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. The referee showed Jeremias Bizi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jeremias Bizi hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ignacio Abad during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mazarredo FC booed when Northampton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Abad didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Zeledon Bartuelo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliseo Cordearo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Delmiro Cordarius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robustiano Pello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filomeno Manni's late challenge caught a Mazarredo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filomeno Manni helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseo Cordearo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Pello in the 31st minute of the match. Segundo Endura hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Eliseo Cordearo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Pello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Delmiro Cordarius took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Bartolo Illan to make any attempt to save it. Edgard Nevada hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeledon Bartuelo to strike the kick off in the second half. Bartolo Illan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delmiro Cordarius's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. A collision led to Northampton getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Filomeno Manni hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Northampton's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Bartuelo came free, but Eliseo Cordearo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Bartuelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delmiro Cordarius took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bartolo Illan. Bartolo Illan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 65th match minute, Mazarredo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Bautista to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Moises Txerran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolo Illan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mazarredo FC's zone, Delmiro Cordarius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartolo Illan came out of the goal and Delmiro Cordarius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ladislao Santiago kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Zeledon Bartuelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Cordearo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Moises Txerran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northampton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Txerran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Northampton fully deserved thier win.
