Spectators: 5900 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1300, VIP seats: 100) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Fernan Avellaneda made the kick off which started today's match. 6 minutes into the game, Mariano Sansone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gonzalitos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate the free kick. A collision led to Gonzalitos getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Mariano Sansone hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Ovidio Silban had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciriaco Hodei. Gonzalitos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ovidio Silban was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ernesto Uxio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Gonzalitos's Wilfredo Berart sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laureano Florian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilfredo Berart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Senio in the 25th minute of play forced Gonzalitos's goalkeeper Ciriaco Hodei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper, Laureano Florian, was totally fooled by Gonzalitos's Ernesto Uxio, who 28 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ciriaco Hodei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Senio in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Mariano Sansone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Gogo Chap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Hodei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Silban scored 2-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ciriaco Hodei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute, Victorio Orain made a precise shot to the right of Ciriaco Hodei. Gonzalitos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Ciriaco Hodei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Silban in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The wind increased when Ernesto Uxio made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Gonzalitos getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Wilfredo Berart hit a great ball. If Fernan Avellaneda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Florian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Sansone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the game, Ernesto Uxio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gonzalitos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate the free kick. In the 61st minute, Ernesto Uxio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Wilfredo Berart came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Gonzalitos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilfredo Berart couldn't finish the play. Laureano Florian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Uxio, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Wilfredo Berart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Laureano Florian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laureano Florian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Uxio in the 70th minute of play. When Ernesto Uxio came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Gonzalitos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Uxio couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Gonzalitos's Tomas Guillerme got a free kick in the 84th minute. A hard shot by Aureliano Uzuri from long distance, 85 minutes into the match, got Ciriaco Hodei's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 87th minute, Gonzalitos's Mariano Sansone seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mariano Sansone the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gonzalitos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mariano Sansone had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gonzalitos! Victor Senio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Ciriaco Hodei made a huge save. The River Plate supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing River Plate would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
