Gualterio Gines's late challenge caught a Club Atletico River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gualterio Gines helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Románticos FC's Gualterio Gines got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ramon Aragones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ramon Aragones recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eriberto Behe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Osvaldo Cucao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Románticos FC's Casimiro Elodio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvaldo Cucao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nemesio Gomez hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualterio Gines in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldo Cucao prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 38 minutes into the match, Románticos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Lando came free, but Hugo Columbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes of play, Club Atletico River Plate's Santiago Lando made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Columbo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 48th minute, Ramon Aragones made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Columbo. Románticos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The corner led Club Atletico River Plate's Rafael Maura to fire away a dangerous shot which Hugo Columbo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ramon Aragones could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Hugo Columbo made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Nemesio Gomez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hugo Columbo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 85th match minute, Club Atletico River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Gomez to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Aragones in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hugo Columbo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 90 played minutes Club Atletico River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Rudolfo. If Ramon Aragones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nemesio Gomez came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Club Atletico River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nemesio Gomez couldn't finish the play. 97 minutes in the game German Janpier did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eriberto Behe. After having played for 98 minutes, Ramon Aragones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Aragones was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Románticos FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club Atletico River Plate had controlled the match.
