A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Maria. Celedonio Ilixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Beltrán in the 4th minute of the match. Tomás Abancens hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Zacarias Osmundo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celedonio Ilixo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Eriberto Mendiko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucas Beltrán fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Ilixo having to interfere. Gaston Ladio hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Zacarias Osmundo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Maria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zacarias Osmundo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Gutxi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Baltasar Dominguez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaston Ladio in the 26th minute. After 32 minutes, Korneliusz Kaczanka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Maria and the Ranser FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Korneliusz Kaczanka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Maria's zone, Aristides Brun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltasar Dominguez came out of the goal and Aristides Brun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Gustavo Gutxi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Maria's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Gutxi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celedonio Ilixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zacarias Osmundo was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Deportivo Maria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Jordy to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Korneliusz Kaczanka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Maria's supporters rose to their feet, but Korneliusz Kaczanka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celedonio Ilixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baltasar Dominguez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aristides Brun went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Lucas Beltrán sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bairon Iriarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Ilixo having to interfere. Baltasar Dominguez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Jacindo in the 87th minute of play. If Zacarias Osmundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ranser FC's Celedonio Ilixo got control of the ball when Zacarias Osmundo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Deportivo Maria's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ranser FC had won, even though Deportivo Maria had held more of the ball.
