When Silvio Vistruario fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Rayo's protests and gave Silvio Vistruario a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes El Rayo got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Vistruario. El Rayo's Eloy Chepe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constancio Morales in the 12th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, El Rayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Montae to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Boni struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. El Rayo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester Uniteds the free kick. Adrian Playo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Alvaro Boni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Uniteds's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Boni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Chepe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 played minutes Manchester Uniteds got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Veremundo. The supporters of El Rayo booed when Manchester Uniteds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. 石振峰 didn't get a good kick on the ball. A beautiful save bye El Rayo's goalie prevented a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jesus Romildo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Hilario Torres in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Rayo's Severino Luken. Jesus Romildo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eriberto Emesto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Benjamin Veremundo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eloy Chepe was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Diego Cloyo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Diego Cloyo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Eloy Chepe successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 65 minutes into the match, El Rayo's Jesus Romildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eriberto Emesto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. El Rayo's attentive Guaberto Gizon managed to snatch the ball when Ernesto Loi made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the match, El Rayo's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Cloyo came free, but Eloy Chepe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute, Manchester Uniteds's Saturnino Alonso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eloy Chepe. Eloy Chepe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. In the 82nd minute Alvaro Boni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Chepe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Jesus Romildo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eriberto Emesto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Saturnino Alonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Eloy Chepe made a huge save. Eloy Chepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Boni in the 97th minute of play. Chants of Manchester Uniteds echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as El Rayo had held the ball for most of the match.
