The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Artemio Urdaspal hit a great ball. A hard shot 7 in the game by Guido Lazcano from a close distance when the talented Humberto Fernado managed to make a qualified save. Racing Club's players were relieved. After 8 minutes, Isaias Quiroga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the FC Funes City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Funes City booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Quiroga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Racing Club's Humberto Fernado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Racing Club's Artemio Urdaspal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Godofredo Berenguer, made in the 12th minute of the game. In the 21stth minute of the game Honorato Claus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club's Humberto Fernado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristo Bortzaioriz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. David Santos took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddy Baladi. Freddy Baladi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Guido Lazcano scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Fernado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Racing Club's Humberto Fernado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. When Elpidio Hernandez fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Elpidio Hernandez a yellow card for diving instead. FC Funes City made a substitution. Ildefonso Adrio replaced Honorato Claus. After 36 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Elpidio Hernandez. Ariel Txurio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Funes City's Albino Lauaxeta got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guido Lazcano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Humberto Fernado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 44 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Adrio came free, but Humberto Fernado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

After 53 minutes, Artemio Urdaspal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the FC Funes City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute Guido Lazcano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Fernado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ildefonso Adrio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Fernado having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Guido Lazcano put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Humberto Fernado. When FC Funes City's Guido Lazcano in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Lazcano in the 74th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Humberto Fernado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Adrio came free, but Humberto Fernado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Guido Lazcano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Humberto Fernado. Racing Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guido Lazcano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. After 95 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by David Santos. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Funes City fully deserved thier win.
