The corner led C.A Costa Azul's Tomás Sá to fire away a dangerous shot which Gaylord Pika despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Victorino Mon's late challenge caught a C.A Costa Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victorino Mon helped the player get up and apologised. If David Trezeguet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. David Trezeguet took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaylord Pika. Gaylord Pika dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to C.A Costa Azul getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Arturo Louis hit a great ball. Gaylord Pika showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Sá in the 32nd minute of the match. When Victorino Mon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 36 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Universidad Buenos Aires's Victorino Mon got a free kick in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Arturo Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A Costa Azul's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Louis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaylord Pika breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Universidad Buenos Aires's Alfonso Ekain in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A Costa Azul's goalie prevented a goal. Gaylord Pika took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Trezeguet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Universidad Buenos Aires's goalkeeper Gaylord Pika, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Trezeguet took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaylord Pika. Gaylord Pika dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The Universidad Buenos Aires players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C.A Costa Azul were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Alfonso Ekain made the kick off in the second half. Gaylord Pika made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Tomás Sá sent off a good shot on target. If David Trezeguet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Trezeguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eriberto Frasco hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. C.A Costa Azul's Tomás Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaylord Pika showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higinio Dacio in the 71st minute of the match. Arnoldo Jordy hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Ambrosio Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When C.A Costa Azul's David Trezeguet, in the 74th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for C.A Costa Azul. If Arturo Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the game, David Trezeguet lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Gaylord Pika. In the 82nd minute, David Trezeguet made a precise shot to the right of Gaylord Pika. Universidad Buenos Aires's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. In the 88th match minute, C.A Costa Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceferino Piorno to maneuver through the defense. C.A Costa Azul's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
