After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Segundo Tab managed to get in a good position for a shot. Congreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Segundo Tab was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Elorri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the match, Congreso's goalkeeper Arnoldo Oro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ambrosio Malvin. Claudio Iruinea was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a little luck, Congreso's Arnoldo Oro got control of the ball when Ambrosio Malvin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, Madariaga's Claudio Iruinea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnoldo Oro. Arnoldo Oro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Leo Elorri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Segundo Tab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Madariaga booed when Congreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Peru didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Saturnino Hermon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leo Elorri skillfully saved the ball. Ambrosio Malvin took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnoldo Oro. Arnoldo Oro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 73rd minute Segundo Tab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Elorri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Congreso's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Iruinea came free, but Arnoldo Oro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Ambrosio Malvin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Oro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Congreso were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Madariaga's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Saturnino Hermon took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Saturnino Hermon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leo Elorri quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 83 minutes into the game, Congreso's Segundo Tab nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leo Elorri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 87th match minute, Madariaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Naike to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Congreso's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Iruinea came free, but Arnoldo Oro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
