The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manfredo Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Maiorga in the 2nd minute of the match. Christian Cristofol might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Ponc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Cristofol ran back to his position shaking his head. Denis Ponc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Froilan Lain went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Club Atlético Pikin's Manfredo Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Ur in the 19th minute of play. Christian Cristofol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Ponc having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Froilan Lain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vitmer's Denis Ponc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vitmer's zone, Christian Cristofol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Ponc came out of the goal and Christian Cristofol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mauricio Ur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ciro Quinten during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Club Atlético Pikin booed when Vitmer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Quinten didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Javiar in the 61st minute of play forced Vitmer's goalkeeper Denis Ponc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Generoso Iztal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Denis Ponc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Generoso Iztal fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Pikin's protests and gave Generoso Iztal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Atlético Pikin getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Generoso Iztal hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Froilan Lain in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Ponc saved Vitmer from getting behind. Conrado Froila hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
