When Albano Santikurtz came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the La Banda Gedienta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albano Santikurtz couldn't finish the play. Mauro Johans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Nicanor Madaleno made a huge save. If Mauro Johans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inocencio Norino hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Mauro Johans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauro Johans in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicanor Madaleno saved Corrientes Parque Club from getting behind. La Banda Gedienta's Aureliano Romero shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nicanor Madaleno but with some difficulty. Nicanor Madaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Santikurtz in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Albano Santikurtz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Madaleno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicanor Madaleno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Johans in the 45th minute. If Albano Santikurtz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilfredo Cordarrel was the one to do the kick off. Severo Magdaleno made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Mario Porfirio sent off a good shot on target. Nicanor Madaleno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albano Santikurtz in the 66th minute of the match. La Banda Gedienta's Florencio Guter suffered a sore thigh after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Inocencio Norino charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Inocencio Norino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Corrientes Parque Club getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Inocencio Norino hit a great ball. If Mauro Johans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mario Porfirio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Magdaleno having to interfere. Prudencio Elija's late challenge caught a Corrientes Parque Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
