Arnoldo Carlomagno's late challenge caught a Libertad Sporting Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnoldo Carlomagno helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tigre's Arnoldo Carlomagno got a free kick in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teo Raitin was the one to do the kick off. Froilan Crispo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Esteban Ugutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Anibal Vedillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Teo Raitin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Libertad Sporting Club's Nestor Ellande slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Froilan Crispo. That made the score 1-5 after 90 minutes of play. Teo Raitin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Vedillo having to interfere. After 96 played minutes Tigre got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Rolado.
