Placido Urbez hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. When German Ieltxu fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmar's protests and gave German Ieltxu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmar getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. German Ieltxu hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Vicente Liher kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Astor Ourente. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. RACING1967's Tiburcio Tebaldo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Tiburcio Tebaldo made a precise shot to the right of Felix Mero. Palmar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Tiburcio Tebaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmar's goalkeeper Felix Mero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amancio Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Felix Mero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zacarias Cruz hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Palmar's Felix Mero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Ortle in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Tiburcio Tebaldo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd play minute Tiburcio Tebaldo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Felix Mero. 1-2. Felix Mero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiburcio Tebaldo in the 56th minute. After 59 played minutes Palmar got a freekick which was hit by German Ieltxu. 68 minutes into the match, Tiburcio Tebaldo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felix Mero. Palmar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiburcio Tebaldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 71st minute Denis Evangelista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Ourente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RACING1967's Jeremias Rio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mariano Hats in the 78 minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Amancio Gaizko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 87 minutes, Zacarias Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RACING1967 and the Palmar players grew even worse after the yellow card.
