David Gilmore came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Rosario Central's Jose Cristofor. But to his dismay, Jose Cristofor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rosario Central's Inocencio Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inocencio Lopez struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. David Gilmore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. When Václav Jaroš fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Gallegos's protests and gave Václav Jaroš a yellow card for diving instead. Václav Jaroš kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Jose Cristofor notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of C. A. Gallegos's David Gilmore. David Gilmore was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Inocencio Lopez struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. David Gilmore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. Gallegos's goal looked a bit too open when Inocencio Lopez came free, but David Gilmore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Inocencio Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rosario Central's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Gilmore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Rosario Central were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inocencio Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Inocencio Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Gilmore having to interfere. Mario Chorche didn't quite understand what happened when in the 56 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Jose Cristofor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but David Gilmore made a huge save. C. A. Gallegos's David Gilmore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inocencio Lopez in the 64th minute of play. Jesus Haimar charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jesus Haimar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Cristofor in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Gilmore saved C. A. Gallegos from getting behind. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when C. A. Gallegos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Haritzeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Jose Cristofor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Gilmore. That made the score 1-3 in the 82 minute of play. Jose Cristofor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but David Gilmore made a huge save. David Gilmore was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Inocencio Lopez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Inocencio Lopez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Inocencio Lopez took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for David Gilmore to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 96 minutes, Inocencio Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosario Central's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The C. A. Gallegos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rosario Central were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
