When Eugenio Heriberto fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potrero's protests and gave Eugenio Heriberto a yellow card for diving instead. Francisco Oliveiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 5 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Potrero:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Redentor FC:s goal. In the 9th minute Haroldo Avellaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Baudelio struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Norberto Romo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redentor FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ignacio Montrelle during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Potrero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignacio Montrelle to maneuver through the defense. Potrero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Americo Marin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Norberto Romo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Santos Hug showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 22 minute of play. Pascual Atarrabi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Botello in the 26th minute of play. Pascual Atarrabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Valery, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Norberto Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Avellaneda in the 32nd minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Redentor FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Gentza. With an all-out effort, Redentor FC's Norberto Romo threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Haroldo Avellaneda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Haroldo Avellaneda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Norberto Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Baudelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Potrero's Rodolfo Llorenc got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Redentor FC's Pascual Atarrabi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Redentor FC from getting a goal against them. Potrero's Norberto Romo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Avellaneda in the 69th minute of play. Pascual Atarrabi was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Fulgencio Botello capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fulgencio Botello really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. After 72 played minutes Potrero got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Jusepe. Emilio Vito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Norberto Romo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Haroldo Avellaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Redentor FC fully deserved thier win.
