In the 14th match minute, Diana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Aires to maneuver through the defense. Iker Sendoa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute of the match Ricardo Procopio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Rameriz skillfully saved the ball. Amancio Gentza charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amancio Gentza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruno Abascal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgilio Rameriz. Maciel AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A hard shot by Horacio Sansone from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Celso Gaufred's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 29 minutes into the match, Diana's goalkeeper Celso Gaufred had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amancio Gentza. After a rather tough play, Diana's Eustaquio Ireno got a free kick in the 36th minute. When Joel Franco fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diana's protests and gave Joel Franco a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Maciel AFC booed when Diana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maciel AFC's Virgilio Rameriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Jokin in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Nestor Jokin made the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Bruno Abascal in the 58th minute really tested Virgilio Rameriz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 60th match minute, Maciel AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Larpe to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Jokin let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 61st minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. After a rather tough play, Maciel AFC's Amancio Gentza got a free kick in the 66th minute. Nestor Jokin might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Rameriz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Jokin ran back to his position shaking his head. Ricardo Procopio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgilio Rameriz. Maciel AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Urbano Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Rameriz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Arano in the 77th minute of play forced Diana's goalkeeper Celso Gaufred to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Iker Sendoa fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maciel AFC's protests and gave Iker Sendoa a yellow card for diving instead. Diana made a substitution. Paulo Nisio replaced Joel Franco. Iker Sendoa hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes, Nestor Jokin made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Maciel AFC's Virgilio Rameriz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvano Arano's late challenge caught a Diana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Arano helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes Maciel AFC got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Arano. Nestor Jokin might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Rameriz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Jokin ran back to his position shaking his head. When Nestor Jokin came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Diana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Jokin couldn't finish the play. Nestor Jokin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Virgilio Rameriz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Diana players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
