In the 12th minute, Freddy Hever got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. LaGordoneta's Elias Iigo got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. LaGordoneta's Elias Iigo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bonifacio Pirmin in the 19 minute of the game. Hilario Hulberto in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amancio Gartxot, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Amancio Gartxot made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Hilario Hulberto sent off a good shot on target. Nereo Heli hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Herminio Lorencio fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chañarmullo's protests and gave Herminio Lorencio a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Chañarmullo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of LaGordoneta:s goal. Hilario Hulberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Gartxot having to interfere. Amancio Gartxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Oton in the 39th minute of the match. Cosme Osoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Amancio Gartxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hilario Hulberto in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Gartxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hilario Hulberto to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hilario Hulberto in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Gartxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58thth minute of the game Hilario Hulberto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chañarmullo's Amancio Gartxot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hilario Hulberto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amancio Gartxot having to make a save. If Hilario Hulberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafin Seguinus in the 75th minute of play forced LaGordoneta's goalkeeper Jorge Leizarraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amancio Gartxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Osoitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th match minute, Chañarmullo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafin Seguinus to maneuver through the defense. Amancio Gartxot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hilario Hulberto's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Elias Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LaGordoneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Iigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that LaGordoneta were the better team. LaGordoneta's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
