Agarrate Catalina's Bonifacio Loramendi got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, LaGordoneta's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Clodio came free, but Jorge Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Leizarraga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Loramendi in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, LaGordoneta's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Berbiz came free, but Jorge Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Berbiz in the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Agarrate Catalina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Damario to maneuver through the defense. Natalio Koldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Chaime having to interfere. Higinio Beat was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for LaGordoneta! Jorge Leizarraga came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Agarrate Catalina's Bonifacio Loramendi. But to his dismay, Bonifacio Loramendi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Freddy Hever recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Chaime took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Hever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Freddy Hever made a precise shot to the right of Jaime Chaime. Agarrate Catalina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Clodio in the 48th minute of play forced LaGordoneta's goalkeeper Jorge Leizarraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusebio Clodio made a kick off. Jaime Chaime showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Ermengol in the 52nd minute of the match. Natalio Koldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes LaGordoneta got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Lico. After some careless play in the LaGordoneta defense, Bonifacio Loramendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Leizarraga. The LaGordoneta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Leizarraga should have stopped the shot. Jorge Leizarraga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Clodio, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Natalio Koldo fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LaGordoneta's protests and gave Natalio Koldo a yellow card for diving instead. Natalio Koldo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teofilo Eriz during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 83 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Loramendi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Leizarraga. LaGordoneta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifacio Loramendi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 86th minute, Agarrate Catalina's Maximino Berbiz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Natalio Koldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jaime Chaime tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Agarrate Catalina left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than LaGordoneta.
