But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Columbo couldn't finish the play. Silvano Baumer struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Teobaldo Peyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talleres. Jonas Rivas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Peyo having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Columbo came free, but Aquilino Onbera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Talleres's Aquilino Onbera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Rosario in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Domingos Ler hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Talleres's Domingos Ler got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Talleres's Aristides Ishmael got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 minutes, Silvano Baumer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talleres and the BURTON ALBION players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aquilino Onbera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marcelo Rosario. Marcelo Rosario struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Aquilino Onbera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BURTON ALBION. If Dionisio Columbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dionisio Columbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of BURTON ALBION booed when Talleres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Ishmael didn't get a good kick on the ball.
