Silvestre Chano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Sazon in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Luisito Elizardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the game, Julian Romero recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Generoso Montae. Julian Romero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Estrella Roja's Generoso Montae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Garaile in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Estrella Roja's Niceto Sazon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvestre Chano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 52 played minutes Estrella Roja got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Sendoa. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Marcos Atarratze put in a rough tackle. Niceto Rufo walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Generoso Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Romero in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Fabricio Seber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yapeyú FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estrella Roja the free kick. The supporters of Estrella Roja booed when Yapeyú FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Seber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gavino Llanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvestre Chano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gavino Llanos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th match minute, Yapeyú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Rufo to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Yapeyú FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Monico came free, but Silvestre Chano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estrella Roja's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Francisco Gurutz in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Garaile in the 73rd minute of play forced Estrella Roja's goalkeeper Generoso Montae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Seber scored 4-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Generoso Montae, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Generoso Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Seber in the 78th minute of the match. The throw-in from Nico Herrera in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Estrella Roja's Ignacio Sendoa. A collision led to Yapeyú FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Fabricio Seber hit a great ball. When Estrella Roja's Gavino Llanos in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yapeyú FC's goalie prevented a goal. Generoso Montae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 100th minute of the match Yapeyú FC got a corner. Estrella Roja's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Niceto Rufo ran over to the corner to take the kick.
