The referee ignored San Lorenzo y LosRedo's protests and gave Javier Millrick a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, San Lorenzo y LosRedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Millrick to maneuver through the defense. If Norberto Guillerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Teobaldo Dayam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. River Plate's Octavio Gergori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Jerrald in the 34th minute of play. Modesto Jerrald could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Octavio Gergori made a huge save. If Norberto Guillerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Octavio Gergori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Jerrald in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Guillerme was the one to do the kick off. River Plate's Octavio Gergori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Jerrald in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Norberto Guillerme dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Florentino Clemencin, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Norberto Guillerme managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Guillerme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florentino Clemencin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norberto Guillerme struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Florentino Clemencin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, San Lorenzo y LosRedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Jerrald to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Modesto Jerrald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of San Lorenzo y LosRedo booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Guillerme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gualterio Oro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Clemencin having to interfere. San Lorenzo y LosRedo's Florentino Clemencin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Guillerme in the 76th minute of play. Javier Frichoso hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Octavio Gergori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Modesto Jerrald, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Norberto Guillerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnulfo Bembe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Dayam. Modesto Jerrald kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Leon Ciceron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octavio Gergori was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Arnulfo Bembe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Clemencin having to interfere. Florentino Clemencin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Guillerme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Plate played a much better game than San Lorenzo y LosRedo and deserved their victory. The San Lorenzo y LosRedo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
