Peralta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justino Romo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 minutes, Denis Bembe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rodriguez and the Peralta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rodriguez's Denis Bembe got a free kick in the 18th minute. Ezequiel Reynardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Dimas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Rodriguez's Cristobal Calixto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristobal Calixto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rodriguez protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristobal Calixto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pastor Dimas might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ezequiel Reynardo.
